Christmas in Cordova: Toy Drive Helps Local Children and Families

Join The Partnership in making this holiday season special for children in our community by participating in the Christmas in Cordova Toy Drive. This year we are joining forces with other local non-profits and churches to collect toys/gifts for children, age's birth to seventeen, who otherwise would not receive anything. We plan to support hundreds of families through the Toy Drive by distributing toys to over 2,000 children. The families we serve often are faced with desperate decisions, such as buying food for their children, paying monthly rent and dealing with day-to-day challenges which often increase during the pressures of the holiday season.
You can be a part of making this holiday season a great experience to a child in our community by dropping off new, unwrapped toys at the Folsom Cordova Community Partnership, 10665 Coloma Road, Suite 200 in Rancho Cordova or the Rancho Cordova Police Department, 2897 Kilgore Road in Rancho Cordova. You can also participate by making a monetary donation toward the purchase of toys by clicking here.
In addition to toys, this event will not be possible without the help of volunteers. We will need volunteers on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 to help set up the toy store, greet families as they arrive, help parents pick out gifts for their children, wrap presents, as well as re-stock and organize toys. Additional helpers are needed to watch children in our play-care while parents are shopping. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Elise Fitzgerald at (916) 859-0045, ext 237 or EFitzgerald@theFCCP.org.
