About Safety Net Services

Our safety-net services program focuses on meeting the basic needs of our clients while acting as the “Gateway” or “In-road” to our other programs and services. This is a very powerful way to reach populations who would normally “fall through the cracks” of a traditional insular social services delivery system. It also allows us to engage the family or individual on multiple levels. Currently our Safety-Net Services program provides one-to-one crisis assessment, community-based advocacy, resource and referrals and short-term, solution focused case management. In addition we are also able to alleviate many of the immediate needs faced by so many in our challenging times.
Other Safety-Net services offered at our Community Resource Center include, but are by no means limited to: free diapers and baby formula, utility bill-pay assistance, emergency food and clothing vouchers, motel assistance, Regional Transit passes and a limited amount of rental and mortgage assistance (for those in the greatest need.
We are also currently providing individualized services through the Fresh Foods Program to approximately 100 families on a monthly basis. Through the Fresh Foods Program, we serve low-income and disenfranichized populations and those with special dietary needs such as people living with diabetes or who have been diagnosed with cancer
