bridges-tile.jpgThe Program:

Our Employment Services Program is the newest in a wide array of community services provided by the Partnership. This program is funded through a grant awarded by SETA (Sacramento Employment and Training Agency) from the Workforce Investment Act and American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The Employment Services Program provides On The Job Training in a new industry or job for low income families and dislocated workers (individuals laid off or out of work due to company closure or industry downsizing.) The Partnership is currently looking to partner with local employers to place candidates in one of the following career fields:

  • Administrative and Support Services
  • Architecture and Engineering
  • Construction
  • Green and Renewable Energy
  • Healthcare and Support Services
  • Human Services
  • Information Technology
  • Installation, Maintenance and Repair
  • Tourism and Hospitality
  • Transportation and Production

Once a job site has been identified employment candidates go through an extensive pre-screening process to match their strengths and skills with the specific needs of employers. The Partnership is partnering with the Sacramento Works One Stop Career Center in Rancho Cordova to recruit and screen candidates for employment and provide job training services. Once placed, job candidates and employers are supported by our Employment Services Team to ensure a successful match.

Benefits to Employers:

The Employment Services Program provides many benefits to employers who participate. Most specifically, we will reimburse 75% of on the job training wages for up to 16 weeks to bring placed job candidates up to a level of performance to best represent each hiring organization. A full list of benefits to employers follows:

  • Up to 75% of training costs provided (up to 16 weeks at 32 hours per week, $2,688.00 maximum)
  • Hand selected and pre-screened workforce developed with the company’s objectives in mind
  • A support liaison for each position filled to ensure the success of the job candidate and the employer’s satisfaction with their performance
  • Participation in enriching the local community by adding to the skilled workforce, employing local in need individuals and infusing consumer dollars back into our local economy
  • Possible significant tax credits
